Summer Music Sessions – Performer EOI
Local performers, we want to hear from you!
This summer, live music is coming to the streets of the Swan Hill CBD and we’re looking for local performers who would like to be part of it.
Whether you’re a solo artist, duo, band, group, busker or emerging performer, we encourage you to register your interest.
The Summer Music Sessions will feature live music pop-ups throughout the CBD, creating a great atmosphere while encouraging people to shop local, eat local and enjoy local throughout December and early January.
Performance dates
Summer Music Sessions are planned for:
5 - 6 December
12 - 13 December
19 - 20 December
27 - 31 December
2 - 3 January
Performances will take place during the day at various locations throughout the Swan Hill CBD.
Saturday & Sunday set times
The following performance times will be available each Saturday and Sunday:
Saturdays
9:00am - 11:00am
10:30am - 12:30pm
12:00pm - 2:00pm
Sundays
10:00am - 12:30pm
11:30am - 2:00pm
Additional times will be available for the sessions running between Christmas and New Year.
Performers can nominate one or multiple dates and set times when registering their interest.
Who can register?
We want to hear from as many local performers as possible, including:
Buskers • Solo artists • Acoustic performers • Duos • Bands • Young and emerging performers • School-aged performers • Community music groups
You don’t need to be a professional musician to register your interest.
Buskers are encouraged to apply
We particularly encourage local buskers and emerging performers to get involved.
Summer Music Sessions are designed as simple, street-based performances throughout the Swan Hill CBD rather than large staged events, making them well suited to performers who are comfortable playing in a busking-style environment.
Whether you regularly busk or you’re looking for an opportunity to get out and perform locally, we’d like to hear from you.
Performance fees
When registering, we’ll ask you to provide your usual performance fee, if applicable.
If you are a busker or are happy to perform without a set performance fee, you can also let us know as part of your registration.
Providing this information will help Swan Hill Inc develop the final Summer Music Sessions program.
Permits & insurance
Performers taking part in Summer Music Sessions will need to hold the relevant permit and public liability insurance required to perform in the Swan Hill CBD.
Swan Hill Inc will cover the cost of the required permit and Casual Hirers Public Liability Insurance where required.
Individual performers will still be required to complete the relevant applications and provide any information required for approval.
Further information and assistance with the application process will be provided to successful performers.
What are we looking for?
Performances must be family-friendly and suitable for a public CBD environment.
We welcome a broad range of music and performance styles and want to create a program featuring a good mix of local talent throughout the summer.
Summer Music Sessions are street-based performances, with performers positioned at different locations throughout the CBD rather than on a central event stage.
How will performers be selected?
Submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee a performance.
Once registrations have been received, Swan Hill Inc will develop the program based on performer availability, preferred dates and set times, performance requirements, the overall mix of performers and the available program budget.
Selected performers will then be contacted to confirm their date, set time, location and performance arrangements.
